The sighting of the new moon of Syawal for 1447 Hijrah will be carried out nationwide on Thursday, 19th of March. Syarie judges and officers from the Syariah Courts, State Judiciary Department, Prime Minister's Office as well as officers from the Survey Department, Ministry of Development will be stationed at several designated locations to sight the new moon of Syawal.

In the Brunei Muara District, the moon sighting will be held at the Mutiara Exchange building in Tungku Highway; Tanjung Batu Recreational Park, Kampong Sabun; Muara Town and Bukit Agok, Jerudong. In Tutong District, it will be at Bukit Ambog Hilal Building, and Bukit Lumut Hilal Building for Belait District. The public are advised not to approach these locations during the moon sighting.
